Died at his late residence in Russell Township of la grippe, Mr. Daniel Evans in the 69th year of his age. Deceased was one of the wealthy and prominent citizens of North Putnam. His wife and two children survive to mourn the loss of husband and father – Greencastle tar Press – Mr. Evans is a brother of Mrs. WH Durham and well known in Crawfordsvillle. - kbz

On Saturday Dr. and Mrs. DeVore were summoned to Russellville by a telegram which announced the serious illness of the latter’s father, Mr. Daniel Evans. They were drive overland by one of Cooper Bros. and arrived there that afternoon. Our Russellville correspondent this week announces the death of Mr. Evans which occurred Sunday evening. The cause of death was pneumonia. Deceased was quite well known in this city and over the county being a prominent citizen and prosperous farmer. Mrs. W. H. Durham today received a telegram announcing the death at Russellville, of her brother, Daniel Evans. Mr. Evans was one of the most prominent men of Putnam County and has hosts of friends and acquaintances in this city who will be pained to learn of his death.
